I remember the call like it was yesterday from Noreen telling us that an adoptive mother had selected Charles and me to adopt her baby.
It was August 7, 2009. When Noreen told me that an adoptive mother chose us, I couldn't believe it. I felt such joy. I told my husband
and he had the same reaction as I did. It had been less than a month since we completed our home visit and although the social worker
told us a baby could come at anytime, we thought it would be months before we were chosen.
Charles and I met with the birth mother on Friday, August 21, 2009. Although we were apprehensive about the visit, the
nervousness was for nothing. It was like we were meeting an old friend. What was supposed to be a one-hour meeting
turned into almost three hours.
Early on the morning of August 31, 2009, Noreen told me that the birth mom was in labor and on the way to the hospital.
After we confirmed that she was indeed going to deliver the baby, I rushed to the hospital to be with her. It was just
the two of us in the delivery room and the experience was amazing. It was the first time I had the opportunity to coach
someone through childbirth. Our son was born at 12:08 pm. The birth mother signed her surrenders 72 hours later. I will
always be grateful to Adoption-Link for such a positive adoption experience.

Our search for adoption started over 5 years ago and finding the “perfect” agency was paramount in our search.
We are a gay couple and many agencies closed their doors to us or put us on the back burner and stated our journey
would be a long one, which MAY or MAY NOT come to fruition. However…the first agency to respond to us was Adoption Link
and they were always our #1 choice. Through all the closed doors and all the discouragements…Adoption Link came through
like a Ray of Hope!!! They supported us in our dream of family…from the day we started to the day our daughter was placed
in our arms!
Adoption Link was always there for Kevin and me, especially through two failed adoption situations. Noreen and Margaret
helped keep our hope alive and always reassured us that a special “angel” would make his or her way to us when the time
was right. No more than a month after our 2nd failed adoption Noreen called with the news of a little girl needing a
home and a brave mother who was looking to place the daughter she loved so much. We received our call on 7/24 and our
daughter “Natalie” was in our arms by the 29th!!!
Natalie is the light of our lives and we thank God for her every day. We remain in daily contact with her mother who
is now a member of our family!!! We also could not have done this without the support of Adoption Link and their
unwavering passion for finding and making forever families!!! We look forward to working with Noreen and the gang
again in the next 2-3 years…when it’ll be time for Natalie to have a baby brother or sister!!! We would recommend
Adoption Link to any and everyone looking to adopt!!! Thank you guys!!!! We love you all!!!!
