Danielle, Susan, and Siena

We adopted Siena through Adoption-Link in 2007, and it has been an incredible experience. Our work schedules offer flexibility, and we take care of Siena at home (when she is not at preschool). We live on a city block with lots of kids in the neighborhood and with a forested park close by. Playing outside is a priority - running in the grass in the summer and making snow angels in winter top the list.

Siena is very excited about becoming a big sister! She loves to take care of her “babies” and will spend hours wrapping them in blankets, changing their diapers, feeding and holding them. She also likes to play big sister with her friend and schoolmate Iliza (pictured here), who is one year younger.

We like doing activities together, and Siena enjoys participating. We love the arts, music, playing games, cooking, reading, walking in our woods, kayaking, and camping. We especially enjoy preparing healthy meals and eating together as a family. Pancakes are a favorite!

Cultural and racial identities are important to us, and we will do everything we can to help your child know his or her heritage and people who share that heritage. Siena loves her hair and having it styled in different ways. Danielle and Siena share hair appointments, where Claire cuts Danielle’s hair and braids Siena’s hair. We all have so much fun doing this together!

It is with great joy and love that we invite a second child into our lives. Although we have not walked in your shoes, we can imagine that this may be a very difficult time. We extend our good thoughts and blessings to you and yours.
